Erik and I are beyond grateful for WILLING and ABLE grandparents. Both our parents spent several days taking turns caring for Benson while we went on vacation the last week in April. The time away was more than I dreamed of. We drove down to Napa Valley and spent a week relaxing with no responsibility. It felt so good. We enjoyed each other's company, the beautiful scenery and definitely ate and drank too much. :)
Wishing all of you best,
Bre and the Boys
Some of my favorite pictures lately...
I love watching these boys spend time together!
The pictures below hold a special place in my heart. Enjoy the pictures and then feel free to reflect on a CaringBridge post from the past. Thanks Kim and Will for a memorable day!

Words aren't enough...
Almost a week ago Erik and I were presented with a gift from God. His name is Benson. He is the light of our lives. He is precious in so many ways. He has a sweet appearance, cutest little face we've ever seen, and is sweet in nature. He keeps his nursers and doctors on top of their toes. It is difficult to describe our emotions. However I can tell you that our love for our sweet baby boy is nothing we've ever felt before. Having to leave him each night so we can get rest, not sure that is an appropriate statement, is one of our biggest emotional battles. Yet, when the sun rises we know that we will soon be reunited. Walking into his room with a sense of anxiety waiting to hear how he did overnight is subsided when I peak in his isolette and see that sweet precious gift of life.
We are able to go home every night and get out of bed each morning because of you. Yes, you the reader. You are our support system. I know we don't respond to each of you directly but we feel, read, hear and reflect on all your thoughts. Every ounce of support gives us hope and strength. We are approaching this journey with optimism and positive thoughts only so we appreciate everyone of you who is doing the same. My friend Kim and her husband, who is a fireman, think Benson will be a fireman someday...his birthday on 9/11 surely gives this occupation a vote of confidence. Erik thinks he might be a neonatologist someday. I think his possibilities are endless. The point is we ALL see his future bright and clear. Thank you thank you thank you!
Love,
Bre, Erik and Benson
