Father's Day

I realize this post is a week overdue but I wanted to share some pictures and recognize some important men in Benson's life.  

Dear Erik,

You have been a rock throughout Benson's journey and known the right thing to do every step of the way.  You are an incredible father to Benson and loving husband to me.  I know Benson is going to learn so much from you just as I have in our marriage.  Thank you for being my best friend and creating a loving home. I am extremely blessed to have you two boys in my life! xoxo

Dear Dad,

The attitude I had during Benson's hospital days came from you.  You taught me at a very young age to live each day to the fullest.  I was able to celebrate and be happy during some difficult times because you showed me that it is possible.  Thank you for teaching me how to focus on a positive outcome. I admire you for so many reasons and am grateful for the loving environment you have always provided our family.  Thank you for being my father and a very special friend! I love you!

Dear Jim,
You and Betty have always welcomed me with open arms.  I love that I married into a wonderful family. You've always given Erik the tools to become a better person and I know you'll do the same for Benson.  Thank you for your unconditional love to your entire family!

nine months today

This sweet baby is nine months old today.  It's hard to believe! Thanks for cheering him on!

hooray for hearing

Benson completed his last brainstem auditory evoked response (BAER) test today. His hearing is normal. Erik and I felt confident going into the tests as Benson finds our voices very comforting. Due to Benson's complex medical history he will need to be evaluated behaviorally every 6 months until he's 2 years old. Thank you for your prayers and positive thoughts. We greatly appreciate them!
